Does the Pyro interfere with riding when strapped in?

No. It sits between your bindings, an area that rarely contacts the snow during normal riding. The profile is low enough not to drag while carving and high enough to engage your boot when skating.

Will it damage my boots?

No. The bumpers that grip your boot are made of durable, non-abrasive rubber. They apply pressure to the sidewall of your sole, the toughest part of the boot, and leave no marks.

Can I move it to a new board?

Yes. The hardware transfers; the adhesive is single-use for maximum bond strength. To move it, warm the adhesive with a hair dryer, saw behind the device with dental floss, clean the residue with rubbing alcohol, and reinstall with a fresh strip of 3M VHB tape from any hardware store.

Why does it cost more than a foam pad?

Because it isn't one. A foam pad is a single piece of die-cut sticker foam. The Pyro is an assembly of molded composite parts, springs, and high-grade rubber, manufactured in the USA. Foam gets replaced every season or two. This gets transferred to your next board.
